The weather is still settled although rain has been forecast in the next few days so I decided to make the most of it and take a trip down to Arne with my friend Judy to see what was about. It was very bright and but we got there early before too many people about. It was so quiet that there were a few Rabbits on the track and I couldn’t resit a picture of this young bunny!

There were of course the usual Grey Squirrels about and Robins but although there was a lot of birdsong all the birds seemed to be staying undercover. The marshes were also quiet just a few gulls flying about.
We did see a few Sika deer though. There was a small group of females on the edge of the path in the woodland and some in the field, they were a little nervy but we managed to get fairly close.

As we were farther round the walk we came across a lone Sika Stag who was grazing on the heather, he was quite happy for us to take pictures.

Although it was quiet it was non the less an enjoyable and a visit to the RSPB Arne cafe for tea and a snack finished off the morning.
