Well we have just been through one of the worst days and nights for a while. Starting early yesterday morning with heavy rains and then later in the day high winds which got much worse during the night. I couldn’t sleep with the noise, it was quite frightening. We just had to wait for it to subside.

By the morning we looked around and we appeared not to have any damage, which was lucky as there was plenty happening in Dorset and we also still had electric!

I decided that I wasn’t going to take the dogs out early for their walk as it was still a little stormy so we went out towards the middle of the day. We knew the floods would be up but weren’t quite prepared for how much water was about. It’s probably the highest I have seen the river since I’ve lived in Child Okeford and we found our usual walks blocked, we may have got through with wellies but it was touch and go in places, so the dogs had to make do with a shorter walk. They still managed to get muddy though!
