Sunrise 06.10 Sunset 20.11

A dull cloudy morning, improving.

We were promised rain overnight but again we missed it. Since the very hot weather we haven’t had any appreciable rain, a change from last year when the Stour flooded nearly every month of the year. We are certainly having a better summer and I hope all the wildlife are making up for last year.

I keep watching out for Swallows and Martins at Bere Marsh but there has only been one or two, but when I crossed the river towards home suddenly a flock appeared from nowhere, heading for, I’m not sure where. A horrible thought but they will be gathering quite soon. I’ve been making a note of the sunrise/sunset times and a few minutes a day either end is making such a difference to the length of the days.

I spotted this tiny moth on the conservatory window, about 1cm in length so I attempted to take a picture even though it was very dull so I could identify it. I believe it to be a Mint moth but which one I’m not sure so I’ll leave it at that!
