On Friday 6th March the sun was shining for a change so we decided on a little trip down to Weymouth to RSPB Radipole Lake to see what was about and just enjoy a change of scene. Little did we realise a change to all our lives was on the way although there were rumblings of what the future would be for all us.

The water was quite high and it meant there wasn’t the water birds about, it was relatively quiet around the lake. We weren’t lucky enough to see the Bearded Tits or the Penduline Tits that have been sighted there in recent times, but that’s the way it goes with wildlife spotting.

The birds were very active and as soon as we got there we could hear a number of Cetti’s warblers in the reeds, extremely difficult to spot but one did show himself for a short while. We did see a Marsh Harrier but he was very distant.

We just enjoyed the wander taking a few pictures and soaking in a little sunshine.
