On Saturday 10th October I was invited by a friend to go with members of Shaftesbury Camera Club to Mere Down Falconry in the afternoon. Not quite nature photography but a chance to get close to some of our native birds and others.
The owner Allan also helps with rehabilitation of birds when he can, he was delivering a Tawny Owl back to his patch after being found down a chimney very black and dehydrated after our photoshoot. He said the Owl was now very feisty and ready to be released.
Anyway we spent a couple of hours photographing his birds, it was fine but a little windy and some of them struggled in the wind particularly the Barn Owl. It was very enjoyable and it was good to practice my bird in flight skills.
