I’ve been loving just walking down the lane close to home and Damselfly spotting, in the warm weather there has been so many emerging as adults over the last days of May and early into June.

A new spot for me in the lane was Blue Tailed Damselfly so I have seen 5 species close to home so far:
- Banded Demoiselles
- Beautiful Demoiselles
- Large Red Damselflies
- White legged Damselflies
- Blue Tailed Damselflies
No Dragonflies spotted in the lane yet, hopefully soon.

The stars have been the White Legged damselflies, there has been so many of them. One evening when we walked down the lane fairly late with our dogs after the heat of the day had passed I noticed a gathering of White legged Damsels on the grasses, too many to count and I didn’t have my camera, I never learn! Any way I went back down early in the morning, with my camera this time and they were still there they had roosted for the night so managed to get an image of some of them, it was an amazing sight which could be easily missed.

I also tried a little closeup work on the White legged Damselflies, what an amazing complicated structure they are, love them!
