More rain again but Sunday 8th March turned out sunny in the morning. I decided to walk along the North Dorset Trailway from Shillingstone to Hammoon as it was the least muddy of all my usual walks!

The birds were certainly enjoying the early morning sunshine and there was plenty to enjoy. The Yellowhammer was declaring his territory on top of the hedge.

Here is a list of some of the birds I saw that morning, probably I have forgotten some of them. The Barn Owl was just a quick glimpse in the barn it was good to know he has survived this awful winter and hopefully his mate is there too. I saw at least three pairs of Bullfinches along this part of the Trailway and the Goldcrest was a nice surprise, I knew when I saw it up in the trees it was small, I got a pretty poor picture (so is the Bullfinch) as it was in silhouette against the sun but I identified it when I put the images on the computer.
