Autumn has really set in now with frost at nights and cold winds during the day. The gloves and hat have come out for the first time.

I had a lovely walk yesterday with my school friend, Anna. We met on the trailway at Bere Marsh where we walked towards Fiddleford making a diversion on a footpath which took us to Hammoon. Then to Hammoon harbour and back to Child Okeford, although cold the sun shone and it was a great walk.

When I took this picture I didn’t realise I took a photo of the Buzzard circling overhead! Click the image for a bigger copy.

There was plenty to see a Buzzard which flew up in front of us which was then worried by a Rook. Many Fieldfares in the hedges and then a large flock of Lapwings flying over, this was a very pleasant sight but a sign of cold weather to come.
